A poem entitled ‘Kathmandu’ by Ganesh Rai

Kathmandu

Millions of starving soles

Tremor every morning

On your bosom,

Like the restless fleas rove

On the skin of the scratching dog.

Desperate dreamers they

Are who

vehicled themselves into

the dreamland.

They seek what is not and

demolish what’s there

and celebrate ruthless

fruit.

As the yellow lump of the

flame ascends from the

corner of the horizon

And melts in front of the

hungry eyes.

You let these starving

souls to caress their

criminal hands on your groin.

They make you wet.
